Midwestcon 8 was a relaxacon held June 27–30, 1957, at the North Plaza Motel in Sharonville, OH.
The convention was nearly rained out as the tail end of Hurricane Audrey produced heavy rain on Friday. With Worldcon in London, many people went to Midwestcon for their annual "fix": attendance, over 125, included Isaac Asimov, Doc Barrett, Ray Beam, Robert Bloch, Leigh Brackett, G. M. Carr, Buck Coulson, Juanita Coulson, L. Sprague de Camp, Charles De Vet, Beverly DeWeese, Gene DeWeese, Belle Dietz, Frank Dietz, E. E. Evans, Nick Falasca, Noreen Falasca, Don Ford, Bill Grant, Marty Greenberg, Edmond Hamilton, Jim Harmon, Stuart Hoffman, Earl Kemp, Bob Madle, Bea Mahaffey, P. Schuyler Miller, Boyd Raeburn, George Nims Raybin, Tom Scortia, Barbara Silverberg, Robert Silverberg, Stan Skirvin, E. E. Smith, Gerald Steward, Lou Tabakow, Dale Tarr, Lee Tremper, Bob Tucker (and sons Robert and David), Fern Tucker and Ted White.
