Whatever Happened to ...?

• Don & Evelyn Chappell — Still alive? When gafiated?
• Fredrick B. Christoff – Missing dates. Related to Joe?
• Joe Christoff — Missing dates. Related to Fredrick?
• Ann Dietz — Missing birthdate, marriage/divorce/maiden name. Still alive?
• Ajax Hoch — Missing birthdate. When gafiated? Still alive?
• Flieg Hollander – When gafiated? Still alive? What about his brothers?
• Elsie Janda - 2 Elsie Jandas in official records, one born in 1901 & the other born in 1924.
• Bill Knapheide — Missing birthdate. Can’t find any William Knapheide whom we can confirm lived in California. Still alive?
• Lois Lavender.
• Ned McKeown — Missing birthdate. When gafiated? Still alive?
• Henry Moskowitz — Missing birthdate. When gafiated? Still alive? Related to Sam Moskowitz? May be a cousin as he's from NJ; Sam had a brother named Herman and a sister named Helen (among others) according to the 1940 census.
• Philip Norris — need everything, need more info on him! "common name problem"
• Jane Quirk.
• H. S. Zerrin — a pseudonym? - probably - no hits in Ancestry.com or newspapers.com

Probably Dead

We cannot confirm death dates for:

• Richard Bergeron - no info in major Puerto Rico papers (& his name is so common that using newspapers.com for American papers isn't very helpful).
• Precise date of Les Cole’s death?
• Precise date of Jean Cox’s death?
• Eunice Guyy — Did she exist? No evidence in Ancestry.com or newspapers.com, several named Eunice Guy, even one in Illinois born long before 1925.
• Reta Grossman — John Grossman had a younger sister named Ruth Joanne Grossman. Maybe "Reta" was a fan name or a cousin? newspapers.com had several Reta Grossmans.
• Barbi Johnson — not sure of correct birthdate, either.
• Israel Krenzel.
• Joseph Howard Krucher - Likely dead; no info in ancestry.com or newspapers.com after the 1940s.
• Earl Perry — alive in Dallas in 1961, but not by his son's wedding in 1971.
• Mari Wolf — Last published work we can find from her in 1961, Forry Ackerman was searching for her in 1976.
• Honey Wood — after 1968 - Honey was at Baycon 1968, also looked under "Louise Wood" but can't find whether she's dead or alive as of 2021 (possible but unlikely).
• Allen Zweig — we have no information about him at all, really. No info matches claims he was a real person.

Birthdate?

• Sandi Bethke – Only record found is her marriage to Les Gerber. Was Bethke her original name? When did she and Gerber break up? Still alive? Was Pete Nemzek her next spouse? Who was he?
• Belle Dietz – Exact death date missing, too. Marriage/divorce.
• Art Wilson - Common name problem - need to know where he came from or where he died.

Other Missing or Puzzling Information

• Decker Dillies members Marvis Manning and Vincent Manning cannot be confirmed as brothers (or closely related) according to census records. A 1941 newspaper article refers to them as brothers, but there are no formal records connecting Vincent to the Manning family, and no record of this Vincent Manning after the article.
• Did Rose Alberti and Jimmy Taurasi ever marry? Unlikely - no record
• Which Misfits member was arrested for obscene literature?
• What were Dorothy Finn’s complaints about LASFS that got her kicked out?
• Why wasn’t Helen Finn’s death covered in fanzines?
• Dates of Octocons.
• Who Sawed Courtney's Boat?
• Red Avery When did he gafiate?
