Warhoon 28[edit]
The Willish of Warhoon — Warhoon 28 is a huge hardcover(!) 622-page (!!) exquisitely mimeographed (!!!) volume published by Richard Bergeron as an issue of his fanzine. It is dated May 1978 but did not in fact appear until 1980.
It comes close to being a complete fanthology of the pre-1980 writings of Walt Willis, editor of Slant and Hyphen. It contains all of Willis' columns "The Harp That Once or Twice", "The Harp Stateside", and "Twice Upon A Time", as well as Willis Discovers America, The Enchanted Duplicator and much other writing.
It was nominated for the 1981 Best Non-Fiction Book Hugo.
Copies are still available from NESFA Press and Joe Siclari.
See a long review by Taral in File 770 24, p. 10.
The apparent page count is 618, since the last numbered page is 614 followed by two blank pages each with artwork on the verso side. However, because a column was accidentally omitted when the stencils were first typed, Warhoon 28 also contains four bonus pages numbered 510a to 510d that restore the missing material, giving a total of 622.
