Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was home to the Milwaukee Fictioneers and the MA2oSF3. It hosted Beercon, X-Con, Triangulum, First Contact, Operacon and ditto 18.

Almost, but not quite Milwaukee Worldcon bids emerged for 1948, 1959 and 1994; all but the first dissolved well before site selection.

MilwApa is based and collates there, and the slan shack Lytheria hosts much of Cream City fandom’s social activity.

WKFs and pros who spent significant time in Milwaukee include:

“Science Fiction Out of Milwaukee” by G. W. Thomas, Darkworlds Quarterly, June 2, 2020.
