(Do you mean the Lensman Fanspeak or the early NYC club?)
Arisia is a volunteer run, non-profit convention that usually occurs in Boston in January on Martin Luther King, Jr., weekend.
In keeping with the phrase "New England's largest and most diverse science fiction and fantasy convention", Arisia has Anime, Art Show, Dealers Room, Dances, Filking, Gaming, LARPs, Masquerade, Panels, Teen Lounge, Video Room, workshops....
Arisia was founded in 1988 by five people from Western Massachusetts: Brian Cooper, Tom Fish, Mary Robison, Matthew Saroff, and Cris Shuldiner. It was named for an ancient race of people from the Lensman saga by E. E. Smith.
