The 1967 Best Fanzine Hugo was presented September 3 at NYcon 3. Only first place finishers were announced.
Winner: Niekas ed. by Ed Meskys and Felice Rolfe
Runners-up:
- Australian Science Fiction Review ed. by John Bangsund
- Lighthouse ed. by Terry Carr
- Yandro ed. by Buck Coulson and Juanita Coulson
- Habakkuk ed. by Bill Donaho
- Trumpet ed. by Tom Reamy
- Riverside Quarterly ed. by Leland Sapiro
There was controversy this year because Leland Sapiro sent in a "whole bunch" of nominations for Riverside Quarterly in a single envelope -- apparently filled in by students in a course he was teaching. (In those days, the nomination process was considerably less formal then it is today.) NYcon 3 rejected the nominations.
