Karen Sue Francis, a Louisville conrunning fan, was the mainstay of Rivercon for its 25 years, who along with her husband, Steve Francis. She has worked on numerous other regionals and Worldcons. She was co-head of the Louisville in '94 Worldcon bid. With Steve, she won DUFF in 2008. She co-chaired DeepSouthCon 24 with Ken Moore.

She and Steve administer the Big Heart Award and are part of the team behind FranHurst.
