Charles Stewart Metchette, a fan from Windsor, Ontario (across the river from Detroit), was active in fandom during the 1940s and ’50s. The Michifen spelled his name Stuart and apparently called him Steve (though that may be a memory lapse). He was a member of the Misfits.
By 1950, he had moved to California, where he updated the game Interplanetary. He was the original chairman of Westercon 4.
