From Solacon PR 2
Detroit in '59 was a bid sponsored by the Misfits to hold the Worldcon in Detroit in 1959. Its opposition was Big 'D' in '59 (Dallas) and Chicago: 1959. Detroit won and ran Detention. It published the fanzines, Detroit Propaganda and Detention, in support of the bid.
