DeepSouthCon 40, FanHistoriCon 12, was held June 14-16, 2002 in Huntsville, AL. Attendance was 382 and the chairman was Sam Smith. Allen Steele was GoH, Vincent Di Fate was Artist GoH, and Nicki Lynch & Rich Lynch were the Fan GoHs. Connie Willis was the Toastmaster.
Julie Wall won the Rebel Award and Allen Steele won the Phoenix Award. The Rubble Award went to Rosy Lillian "For Making Guy More Than He Was."
