Oklacon was an Oklahoma traveling convention that ran from 1953 to 1957, sponsored by the Oklahoma Science Fiction Confederation. It was renamed Southwestercon when it moved to Texas in 1958, under the auspices of the DFS, but the numbering continued. It’s unclear how many were held after that. It may later have been renamed Dallascon, but it is unclear if this was an official name-change or just a nickname. DCON does appear in some con listings.

Conferences in Oklahoma, silly. With the revival of Southwest fandom in the past decade, these have been held annually over the last seven years, with the Oklacon II being censured by the SFCon for timing. |
