BEM was a fanzine published by Mal Ashworth and Tom White between 1954 and 1958 from Bradford, UK. White gafiated between the fifth and sixth issues and Ashworth maintained his presence in the latter through reprints from OMPAzines.
A review of #2 in Femizine #3/4 (December 1954) said:
These boys have given BEM a terrific personality of its own. The zine as a whole reflects their own particular brand of insanity.
It also notes:
I wonder how many people noticed that the BEM pages have even numbers on the front and odd on the back instead of the other way round? And I wonder if it was done on purpose?
Arnie Katz wrote an overview of BEM for Energumen #7 (April 1971).
