Seacon, the 19th Worldcon and first in Washington State, was held September 2–4, 1961, at the Hyatt House in Seattle. GoH: Robert A. Heinlein. Harlan Ellison was Toastmaster. Chairman: Wally Weber. Attendance was about 300 people.

It was unopposed in the 1961 Worldcon Site Selection at Pittcon in 1960.

The 1962 Worldcon Site Selection held there chose Chicago in '62. It hosted the 1961 Hugos.

A second Worldcon using the name Seacon was held in Brighton, UK, in 1979.
