AutoClave 4 happened July 25-27, 1980, at the Book Cadillac in Detroit. The GoHs were Jeanne Gomoll and Dan Steffan. The toastmaster was Ted White.

It was originally scheduled to be held in 1979 with the same guests, toastmaster and hotel, but a few weeks before the convention, then chairman Leah Zeldes cancelled it, reporting that it only had 23 members. There may have been hotel issues, as well.
