(???? – )

John 'Humph' Humphries was a UK fan from Cheltenham active in the 1950s and 1960s. He was a founder member of the British Science Fiction Association (BSFA), a founding Knights of St. Fantony and a member of the Cheltenham Circle and the Liverpool Group.

Although he doesn't appear in Ron Bennett Directory of Science Fiction Fandom until 1959, Humphries had clearly been involved in fandom from at least 1957, attending that year's Eastercon, Cytricon III, and Loncon. He was the herald in Knights of St. Fantony rituals with Peter Weston noting that he 'was probably nearly twenty but looked thirteen' (Prolapse #9).

Humphries moved to Birkenhead near Liverpool in late 1963 and to Belfast in late 1964, both moves as reported in Skyrack. He continued to attend conventions until at least 1964 although he wasn't a member of Loncon II in 1965.
