Barry Smotroff

A New York fanzine fan, Barry Smotroff was one of the hosts of the Fanoclasts. He belonged to the Science Fiction and Fantasy Society at Queens College, where he met Moshe Feder in 1970. They pubbed Placebo. He was a member of Apa-Q, TAPS and Minneapa.
He was murdered in an apparent robbery. He was in a relationship with Michigan fan Suzy Tiffany when he died; she had moved to Queens to be with him.
