Joe Sarno was a long-time fan living in Chicago, IL. He was half of Joe-Jim (the other half was Jim O'Meara). He was an actor in the fannish musical Requiem for a Fake Fan and the play The Purple Pastures. He was part of the Chicago: 1959 Worldcon bid and the Tenth Anniversary Willis Fund committee and was one of the workers on Discon.

His fannish activity seems to have been primarily in the 1950-1965 have been primarily in the period, later moving to comics, including running a comic store.
