Fanac in Wisconsin occurs in Madison, and less vigorously in Milwaukee, but there used to be a lot of weird activity around Sauk City. Fond du Lac was important when Dean A. Grennell lived there, and Jon and Joni Stopa made Wilmot Mountain notable. Gamers make pilgrimages to Lake Geneva.

Westcon took place in Wausau. The Science Fiction Organization of La Crosse ran Couleecon/Attemptacon. Some activity has centered on Beloit College, in Beloit, home to the Science Fiction and Fantasy Society of Beloit and the Beloit Science Fiction and Fantasy Association.

Well-known Badger State stefnists have included Robert Bloch, August Derleth, Gene DeWeese, Dean Grennell, Jeanne Gomoll, Martin H. Greenberg, Nanek and Richard Russell.

It's unclear if “Wisconsin Fandom” was a formal group or just a bunch of fans living in Wisconsin, but Phyllis Economou, Arthur Economou, Bill Steaffens, Pat Steaffens, Dean Grennell, Jean Grennell, Michael Nimtz, William Newmann, Bob Bloch, Marian Bloch, Joe Rupp, Jr., and Curtis Janke published an ad (pictured) in the Solacon PR 3 in 1958 under that name supporting the Chicago: 1959 Worldcon bid, with references to Bheercon and Milwaukee's Spree in 'Seventy-Three from “the original ‘Plan Ahead’ Mob.”
