Larry Montgomery, a Southern fan, became interested in comics and its fandom when in high school in the early 1960s and found fanzines and fandom a few years later through the Lupoffs’ Xero. This was when Southern fandom was coalescing with the SFG and the SFPA, which he quickly discovered.
He was OE of ALA-APA, chaired DeepSouthCon 2 and DeepSouthCon 3. He was married to fellow fan P. L. Caruthers-Montgomery.
