The 1968 Best Novelette Hugo was presented September 1 at Baycon. Baycon seems to have had a very schizophrenic attitude towards releasing the order of finish in the various categories. The always listed the second place finisher, but only sometimes did they list third place, and they did not rank anything that finished lower than third place.
Winner: "Gonna Roll the Bones" by Fritz Leiber [Dangerous Visions, 1967]
Runners-up:
- #2 "Wizard's World" by Andre Norton [If Jun 1967]
- "Faith of Our Fathers" by Philip K. Dick [Dangerous Visions, 1967]
- "Pretty Maggie Moneyeyes" by Harlan Ellison [Knight May 1967]
1967 | Best Novelette Hugo, 1968 Hugos | 1969 | 1968 |
