DeepSouthCon 50 was held June 15–17, 2012, in conjunction with Lunar Party in Huntsville, AL. Membership was about 530 and it was co-chaired by Julie Wall, Toni Weisskopf, & Linda Zielke. Lois McMaster Bujold was Professional GoH, Howard Tayler was Artist GoH, David Hulan and Larry Montgomery were Fan GoHs, and Dr. Demento was a Special Media GoH. Travis "Doc" Taylor was Toastmaster.
The Rebel Award was won by Shelby Vick, Linda Zielke, Bill Zielke, Becky Zielke, & Robert Zielke. The Phoenix Award went to John Ringo. The Rubble Award went to Bob Jennings "for changing the SFPA deadline."
