TusCon 36 was held November 13–15, 2009, at the Hotel Tucson CityCentre in Tucson, AZ. The Pro GoH was Weston Ochse, a Stoker Award winning author; with Fan GoH Liz Hanson and TM Ed Bryant. Other guests included Special Guest Dr. Paul A. Carter and Emma Bull, Will Shetterly, Janni Lee Simner, and Mike Stackpole. The con's She Who Must Be Obeyed was Sue Thing.

After September 1st and at-the-door membership price was $45. The total memberships were 249, possibly the lowest since the 1970s.

The Tuscon Masquerade returned to Tuscon's programming, now known as cosplay.
