I-CON is a three-day festival, started in 1982 designed to encourage literacy, creativity and interest in science and technology through science fiction and its related genres. The name is short for "Island Convention." It has given out the I-CON Sam Moskowitz Award, the Raymond Z. Gallun Award, and the Iconosphere Award.
