Joy Goodwin Clarke Sanderson was a UK/US fan. She met Vin¢ Clarke in the mid-50s and became Joy Clarke. Their house in Inchmery Road became the center of what was known as Inchmery Fandom. She served as secretary for Loncon I. She was on the Cytricon II committee. She was a member of OMPA (publishing Lesser Flea), its OE in 1955-56, and in 1959 published Apathy, an index to the first 20 mailings.

In 1960 she left Clarke to move to the US with Sandy Sanderson, a fan who was a lodger at their house. Clarke retained custody of their daughter, Nikki.
