Michael Roy Nelson, a conrunning fan living in the Baltiwash area, found fandom in 1989. He chaired Disclave 41, Capclave 2002 and co-chaired the DC17 Worldcon bid. He has worked on numerous other regionals and Worldcons. He is a member of WSFA and 2021 president of BWAWA.

Originally from Massachusetts, he was educated at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. His daughter, Catherine Anastasia Nelson, is also a fan.
