Omnivores

A fannish dining club founded by Moshe Feder. In the mid-70s it was a group of about 20 New York fans who went out to eat something interesting once a month and lasted several years. Members included Jerry Kaufman, Suzanne Tompkins, Andy Porter, David Emerson, Susan Palermo and Hank Davis.

There was a rule that if Moshe could not attend the monthly outing, it was not a meeting of the Omnivores. So Jerry Kaufman created The Gastronomes which was defined as the Omnivores when Moshe was not present. (Moshe was annoyed at the thought of a club that by definition he could not be e member of.)

Club
This is a club page. Please extend it by adding information about when and where the club met, when and by whom it was founded, how long it was active, notable accomplishments, well-known members, clubzines, any conventions it ran, external links to the club's website, other club pages, etc.

When there's a floreat (Fl.), this indicates the time or times for which we have found evidence that the club existed. This is probably not going to represent the club's full lifetime, so please update it if you can!
