Norwescon VIII was a convention held March 14-17, 1985 at the Red Lion Inn in SeaTac, WA. The GoH was Brian Aldiss, the Artist GoH was Jack Gaughan (who did not attend, dying a few months later). The Fan GoH was rich brown, and the Science GoH was Gregory Benford.
It was chaired by Richard Wright and the toastmaster was Robert Silverberg.
It was to have been held in conjunction with the Australian Natcon, Spawncon. Jerry Kaufman, in Australia on his [[DEFF][] trip, entered a hoax bid to hold the Australian Natcon in Seattle. It won. (The Aussies, sensibly, held a Natcon in Australia, anyway. Kaufman, sensibly, didn't.)
