Mark Leeper
(May 17, 1950 -- February 22, 2025)
Mark R. Leeper, was a New Jersey fan, who became an avid science fiction lover at age 6 with the Commando Cody TV show. He was a member of the UMass Science Fiction Society in the late 1960s and early ’70s and a member of the Wayne Third Foundation in Detroit in the mid-1970s. In 1978, he and his wife, fellow fan Evelyn Leeper, founded the Mt Holz Science Fiction Club at Bell Labs, where he worked.
They have jointly edited and published their weekly ezine, The M T Void, since 1978, with over 2,300 issues. Mark also published Betelguese. He was an inveterate writer of movie reviews and undoubtedly the longest running review on the Internet, having started in 1984.
The Leepers met while in high school as math champs in western Massachusetts and married in 1973.
