Christopher Evans
(1951 –)
Christopher D. Evans is a UK fan and pro writer and editor born in Wales and later resident in London active since the late 1970s.
Professionally, he is the author of around eighteen novels, some under pennames, including Future Perfect (2014) co-written with Roy Kettle. He has also written non-fiction and, with Rob Holdstock, co-edited the three Other Edens anthologies.
Fannishly, he has contributed to fanzines including Ansible, Matrix and Prevert. He edited the first four issues of the BSFA's Focus (1979–81), again with Rob Holdstock.
He published the fanzine The Best of Elmer T. Hack with Jim Barker and Conspiracy Theories (1987).
Between 1981 and 1984 he lived in Ortygia House, a building in Harrow near London that at various times was also home to other writers including John Brosnan, Chris Priest and Lisa Tuttle. He attended meetings of Friends in Space and was part of the group at Channelcon, the 1982 Eastercon, that conceived the idea of Mexicon.
He worked as a teacher.
Not to be confused with Dr Christopher Evans (1931–79) who contributed essays in New Worlds in the 1960s.
