Bob Peterson

Denver SF and fantasy fan Robert C. Peterson for years published his personalzine Notes from Bob Peterson. He was a member of the Colorado Fantasy Society in the 1940s.

A member of N3F and First Fandom, in the 1940s Peterson published The Fantasy Index and Index of Science Fiction Magazines 1926 - 1948, the last edited by Bill Evans.

In 1960, Peterson edited the anthology The Science-Fictional Sherlock Holmes. The stories included in the anthology had been collected by SF fan Norm Metcalf.

Bob was named to the First Fandom Hall of Fame in 2004, along with Brian Aldiss and William Hamling. He won the Sam Moskowitz Archive Award in 2008.

Bob reported that he had an almost complete run of Startling Stories.

In 1954, he married a woman he met through the Colorado Mountain Club. She did not share his interest in SF, but all four of their sons did. He lost his wife of 52 years on June 16, 2007 and then lived in an independent living facility in Denver.
