Evans was active in Columbus fandom for several years. He co-chaired MARCON from 1978-1983. He co-chaired with Ross Pavlac for the first two years and with Liz Gross for the latter three. He was also involved in the Worldcon bid for Cincinnati in 1988 and one of the Columbus Worldcon bids. In more recent years, he was involved with running Context. He was FGoH in 1985 at ConClave X.
