He was an early member of [[NESFA]], a member of [[MCFI]], chaired [[Boskone 9]], and organized [[APA tax|APA:Tax]]. He worked on many [[Worldcons]] in the 1970s and 80s (he was Treasurer of [[Noreascon 1]]) and was a division head at several others.  He co-edited Noreascon 1's excellent restaurant guide with [[Leslie Turek]].
