A Chicago-area con-running fan who chaired Chicon 7, the 2012 Worldcon. He also headed Chicago Worldcon Bid, the corporation behind the losing Chicago in 2008 and the victorious Chicago in 2012 bids. He also chaired Capricon 19, Capricon 20, and Capricon 24. He was married to fellow fan Elizabeth McCarty.
