Eastercon 71, Concentric, was due to be be held in the Birmingham NEC Metropole from April 10-13, 2020. The GoHs were Alison Scott, Rhianna Pratchett, Tade Thompson, Adam Roberts. It was co-chaired by John Dowd and Vanessa May.
Concentric was cancelled about a month before it was to have been held due to the Covid-19 epidemic, though a bid session was held over Zoom to select the site for the 2022 Eastercon. Unfortunately, the only bidder, for Reclamation, had been unable to confirm their hotel details because of the pandemic, so it was decided to hold over site selection for 2022 until the 2021 Eastercon.
