APA SF&F was a UK-based APA founded in 1981 by Simon Bostock.

There were no British APAs at the time and when Linda Pickersgill learned of Bostock's interest in the idea she encouraged him to start one.

The initial mailing was in June 1981 and the APA seemingly continued until at least the end of the year but soon 'collaps[ed] through general lack of interest' (Rob Hansen in Then). Greg Pickersgill, writing in the first mailing of Frank's APA, said there had been three or four mailings and it died:

... because virtually no-one involved in it including Bostock had the vaguest idea of what an apa really was or what should be done to make one flourish. At least part of the reason for the death of [APA SF&F] was the very disparity of the people involved.
