(???? – )

Tom Owens was a UK fan from Liverpool active from late 1951 until early 1953. He was an early member of the Liverpool Group (LāSFāS) and attended the Mancon in 1952.

With John Roles he edited the first three issues of the clubzine Space Diversions (June–October 1952), contributing 'A Short History of the Liverpool S-F Society' and a 'Local Affairs' column. When the group's committee was reconstituted in January 1952 Owens was appointed assistant to Norman Shorrock (treasurer) and Lewis Conway (secretary). In Space Diversions #4 (December 1952) he said of his departure from the masthead, 'Owing to extensive domestic commitments I find it increasingly difficult to serve the mag. in anything more than an associate capacity.'

In Space Diversions #5 (February 1953), Owens wrote:

By the time this issue of Space Diversions appears, I shall be in Canada – where I am emigrating to. I am leaving Liverpool on the 25th February and will eventually arrive in Toronto.
