(???? – )

John Muir was a fan from Manchester, UK active in the 1960s and 1970s. He produced a number of fanzines, all single-issue and most in 1969. He was a member of OMPA.

He seems to have been a fanzine collector. In his report of SCI-CON, Peter Roberts describes the auction and notes that:

Ken Eadie is buying everything Mike Moorcock, Ted Tubb, and Ken Bulmer are selling. But not a full set of Hyphen which goes for £5 – I watch with clenched teeth and empty pocket. John Muir is even more heartbroken at the sight, but later alleviates woe with some cheap 'Golden Age' fanzines from the U.S[1].

In Speculation #30 (Spring 1972), Peter Weston wrote of the BSFA's 'Fanzine Foundation' which 'in 1970/71 or thereabouts, a Northern fan by the name of John Muir acquired ... from Charlie'. These fanzines were seemingly auctioned off at Chessmancon in 1972, and the remainder at Mancon 5.
