This Sceptred Isle was a 22-page, single issue apazine published in June 1956 by Joy Clarke for OMPA 8.
Clarke explained that:
It was the advent of Lee and Larry Shaw[1] that sparked off the idea of this series of booklets. We did not realise over here that many of the places we know, love, and finally take for granted are, to most Americans, unknown and therefore not visited by them.
"Part One" was devoted to London and Middlesex, a former county to the west of London and now part of Greater London itself. Seven further parts were planned covering other areas of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland:
These will be issued at intervals between now and August 1957 and will have a wide left hand margin so that they can all be stapled together when you've got the lot. They will be issued as a free supplement to subscribers to Eye, through the Off Trail Magazine Publishers' Association, and to the Americans who state they will be coming over for the Convention. If anyone else would like a copy each booklet will cost a bob.[2]
However no further parts were issued.
