The Horse Laugh was a fanzine produced by Peter Campbell from 1953. The British Fanzine Bibliography says enigmatically that 'Peter Campbell may have produced a fanzine under this title (1953). No further information' without saying why it might be thought that he did.

The contention is likely derived from the Operation Fantast Handbook for 1953 in which (presumably) Ken Slater writes about Operation Fantast's 'Greeting Group and Contact Bureau'. The 'operators' of this group were Campbell in the UK, Janie Lamb and Dave Rike in the United States, Pearle Appleford in South Africa and Dave Cohen in Australia.

The Handbook explains 'The "G.G". and "C.B." are non-profit services, and the former consists of teams of members, under the guidance of the operators, who write letters of welcome to new members.' It also explains that 'Peter, by the way, issues a special fanzine for GG members, known rather appropriately as The Horse Laugh.

How many issues there were remains a mystery. We can probably assume that it didn't last beyond the end of Operation Fantast in 1955.
