James 'Jim' McArthur was a fan from Edinburgh in Scotland active in the 1950s.
He is listed in Ron Bennett's Directory of Science Fiction Fandom from 1955 to 1960 and was a member of the Supermancon although it's not known if he attended. He had a letter in Andromeda #5 and there may be other fanzine appearances.
When John B. Hall took over the Lakeland S.F. Organisation in 1955 and decided that LSFO now stood for the London S.F. Organisation he also announced that there were branches, one of which was in Edinburgh under the stewardship of McArthur. Nothing else is known about the branch.
