The British Amateur Science Fiction Foundation was created in 1953 by Ken Slater and announced in the Operation Fantast Handbook for 1953. It was intended as 'a repository for all amateur publications from all over the world', with material both donated and loaned. Slater kick-started the process by donating a two-foot stack of fanzines. the Foundation would involve a reference library and provide 'independent proof of copyright for an amateur publisher'. Dave Gardner, John Roles, and Norman Shorrock were involved but it all came to nothing.

This is a group page. Please extend it by adding information about when and where the group formed, its members, how long it was active, notable accomplishments, external links to the group's website, etc.

When there's a floreat (Fl.), this indicates the time or times for which we have found evidence that the group existed. This is probably not going to represent the group's full lifetime, so please update it if you can!
