Georgette Heyer was the English writer who essentially created the Regency romance genre. Regency Dances, the Almack's Society for Heyer Criticism, and the Georgette Heyer Teas all attest to her popularity among fans, and her meticulously researched, light-hearted fiction had a significant influence on several branches of fantasy, steampunk and paranormal romance.
