Boréal 2018 was held on May 4-6, 2018 at the Masonic Temple in Montreal, QC.

GoHs were Sabrina Calvo, Sylvain Neuvel, Olivier Paquet, and Patrick Senécal, and the Special Guests were Séléna Bernard, Jonathan Brassard, Marie Bilodeau, Cédric Ferrand, Isabelle Gaudet-Labine, Ariane Gélinas, Karoline Georges, Renaud Jean, Derek Künksen, Michèle Laframboise, Claude Lalumière, Yves Meynard, Normand Mousseau, Alexandra Renwick, Élisabeth Vonarburg, and Jo Walton.

Other guests were Raphaëlle B. Adam, Natasha Beaulieu, Francis Blais, Geneviève Blouin, Rachel Bouvet, Jesse Bouvier, Talhi Briones, Caroline-Isabelle Caron, Mariane Cayer, Joël Champetier, Dave Côté, Luc Dagenais, Marie De Bulle, Alain Ducharme, Frédérick Durand, Rémi Fréchette, Marc Ross Gaudreau, Éric Gauthier, Claude Janelle, Marc Lamothe, Pascale Laplante-Dubé, Isabelle Lauzon, Mathieu Lauzon-Dicso, Josée Lepire, Julie Martel, Jean Pettigrew, Catherine Girard Ratté, Jonathan Reynolds, Joëlle Rivard, Billy Robinson, Esther Rochon, Olivier Sabino, Christian Sauvé, Stéphanie Sylvain, Jean-Louis Trudel, and Guillaume Voisine.

For the first time, the conference presented a full day of programming for college and university students, with roundtables, presentations and activities covering various facets of genre literature and literary creation.

The conference also included a Lang Belta Workshop led by Hanne Madeleine Gates Paine, an immersive experience which enabled attendees to learn the Lang Belta, patois created for The Expanse television series.
