(February 2, 1905 – March 6, 1982)

Ayn Rand, the Russian-born American author of the sf novel Atlas Shrugged (1957) and novella Anthem (1938), is better known for her philosophy of Objectivism. She is the darling of the Libertarian SF lovers, although she herself said, “I’d rather vote for Bob Hope, the Marx Brothers, or Jerry Lewis — they’re not as funny as John Hospers and the Libertarian Party.”
