A New Zealand fan who moved to the US after being awarded one of the first NZ Fulbright Scholarships, before dying at a young age unexpectedly in Chicago.
In 1935 he was the first NZ fan to publish a fanzine SF Bulletin and appears to have been the first fan outside the US to do so, as acknowledged by Walt Willis in a column published in Nebula magazine.
