Walt Kessel, a faned and fanartist, was one of two 1940s fans in Savannah, Georgia. (The other was Fred Warth.)
Though basically gafiated by then, he helped to bring later Savannah fan Lee Hoffman into fandom. LeeH dedicated the second issue of Quandry to Kessel and Warth, calling Warth her fanzine’s “ghod-uncle” and Kessel, “ghod-pappy.”

- Off of the Planet Adventures [1952] (One of many editors to what was probably a one-shot)
