Windycon XIII was a convention held from November 14-16, 1986 at the Hyatt Regency Woodfield in Schaumburg, IL. Guests of Honor: Harry Harrison, Arlin Robins, Donald A. Wollheim, Elsie Wollheim. Toastmaster: Marta Randall. Chair: Debra A. Wright. Attendance was around 1900.
Windycon moved to its now traditional Veteran's Day weekend. The first ISFiC Writers Contest was held and the winner was "Getting Along with Larga," by Richard Chwedyk. The Chicago in 91 Worldcon bid was officially launched.
