David Drake is an American SF and fantasy author and editor. A Vietnam War veteran who has worked as a lawyer, he is now seen as a major author of the military SF sub-genre. He is known primarily for his Hammer's Slammers series of stories.
He was one of the founders of the specialty publishing firm Carcosa.
