Guy J. Consolmagno is an American convention fan and a member of General Technics.
Now a Jesuit brother and a research astronomer and planetary scientist at the Vatican Observatory, he was a student at MIT and member of MITSFS in the mid-70s. He got his Ph.D. in planetary science in 1978 at the University of Arizona's Lunar and Planetary Laboratory. He won the 2014 Carl Sagan Medal and gave his prize lecture at Sasquan, the 2015 Worldcon.
On September 18, 2015, it was announced that Pope Francis had appointed Brother Guy to serve as Director of the Vatican Observatory. In addition to his published books, Consolmagno has contributed to such fanzines as Argentus. He was an invited participant in Scifoo in 2008. He was an occasional contributor to Apaloosa.
