Gillian T. “Jill” Adams was a fan from Southampton, U.K., active from the 1950s to the 1970s, making an impression on Archie Mercer and others at Loncon I for "apparently being able to go without sleep altogether for several nights on the trot and still look just as fresh as at the beginning." She was described by Archie Mercer and Norm Shorrock as being one of those people who stay in the background and work hard to keep things running.
This might have helped in her long involvement in the running of the BSFA from its inauguration, including stints as both Treasurer and Secretary. She also belonged to the London Circle.
